A beautiful spring day and 8 months old.

8 months old! Vev is a master crawler, loves downward dog, follows me around the house, and now pulls her self up to standing on everything! This has introduced a new realm of hazards and bruises. She is getting better at her balance, but still has to concentrate really hard. She gets so excited when she stands up and celebrates with a squeal. She loves to be be at the new level of sight and is interested in everything I am doing.

Today we went on a bike ride, completed some yard work, and had a family golf outing.

D went into work well before dawn so he could have the afternoon off.

I just got back from the doctor. I heard it for the first time. The heartbeat of our second child. When I found out I could hardly fathom how I would manage this. I was scared. D was elated! However, we were both shocked. So was my doctor when he walked in the room to see me! Today after I heard the heartbeat, then waited alone in the doctors office until he came, I felt so blessed. I couldn't hold back the emotions that have been riding on my sleeve the last several weeks. Not all of them have been feelings of being blessed, but at that moment they culminated into intense gratitude. Just a year and a half ago we had our papers filed for adoption. I never thought it would be my blessing to bear a child, but that wasn't going to stop me from being a mother. Now I am 14 weeks along awaiting the arrival of baby #2. What a blessing. What a miracle.

It is about time!

Tax season, somewhat single and fatherless, April 15th, chopped a foot off of my hair (pics to come).

7 1/2 months old, 16 lbs, crawling, not spitting or throwing up (yay!), happy as can be, says "da-da-da-da" (D is pretty proud :) loves going for walks, hates baby food, gags if any baby food texture touches her tongue, loves to feed herself, yet refuses to hold her own bottle, sleeps 12 hours through the night, loves naps (most days), signs "dog" and "eat," very serious about Signing Time, drinks from a sippy - but doesn't like juice, fell in love with the binky - previously hated it, 4 teeth, long and skinny, wearing any size from 3-12 months, content and happy ALMOST all the time.
